Don't ask me why I am up at 9 am.  This is too cool though.   There is nothing going on IRC, so I am actually getting stuff done.  I think this is my first 99VC webpage update in 7 years.
We played QSA the other day to defend our number one ranking on the OGL modem ladder.  We played a total of two games on two servers.  We won both games with a 27-0 cap total.  Gg QSA.  Sorry about the early server confusion.
THE OGL CTF LEAGUE HAS BEEN SHUTDOWN.  It was shutdown due to the number of bugs in the CGI code.  They may put up another finalized league in a couple of months.  Therefore, our Wednesday PM match was cancelled.
We have recently been looking at a lot of recruits.  We are getting several requests a day, so we are sorry if it is taking a while for us to make a decision.  The 99VC have always liked being a small clan.  We don't like the idea of "clan-hopping," and by keeping the clan fairly small we hope to keep members in the 99VC for as long as possible.  Currently we have every position covered other than an offensive LPB.  So, if we reject you, it is nothing personal nor a direct reflection of your skills.  For example, if you're anything except an offensive LPB, you would have to be one of the best/coolest players that we have ever seen.  We hate rejecting people (but we have to), so that is any excuse there is for the delay sometimes.
The 99 Cent Movie Reviews page is down indefinately until I bother to upload all the files sometime and work on the site again (waking up at 9am regularly sure may help that happen).

The 99VC Modem team reached their final resting place in the OGL Modem ladder...#1 BABY!  We played GOON on CTF1 across 2 servers...first game on smartlink, second on theirs.  We came away w/ a 7-2 win on smartlink, and I must say...I have NEVER seen so many BFG's fired in my LIFE.   It was an all out llama BFG war making it very hard to keep your hands on techs.   I saw it all...even the all mighty king of kings...the 8x BFG!  RUN!

On GOON's server it was a much closer game, GOON spent the whole game in the lead...we had to play catch up.  It was 4-1 GOON when my cable modem went out with about 5 minutes left in the game...needless to say I was NOT happy.  I was able to log on about 5min later via my roomies computer and his AOL account(ack) to discover we won w/  total score of 11-6(sidenote, we won via frags on the Goon server).  I want to give n0x the Anti-Llama award for not using the BFG once!  "I'm not going to use that lame ass gun" she decided to own fools w/ her trusted RL instead :)  Way to go n0x!

We have picked up one more LPB in the past few days, all hail Solace!  He is a x-MR member and plays D.   Solace also brings along a private server based in Utah, which will probably be a good neutral server for central clans(maybe even east coast too).

Our first game in the new OGL League ended up in our favor after a very close game for the first 20-25min vs The Peacemakers.  It was a tough fought game on a map from the Strogg map pack.

Our HPB team is looking to obtain *1-3* very talented HPB's, talk w/ Slicker or myself.

Time to install my new MX300...

Well, looks like the 99VC are back into the swing of things, our HPB team beat Darkwater 15-1 for the #3 spot in the OGL Modem ladder.  Go HPB Power!!!  We also got lucky and were able to challenge GOON for the #1 spot.  As far as the Open Ladder, we are still in a idle waiting for a clan to open above us to challenge.

I made a LOT of progress on our new demo, If not much is going on for me today, I'll have the sample ready by tonight.  If you have NOT sent me a mp3 to be played during your part of the demo, I will pick a song for you myself.  Tomorrow is the FINAL deadline for your song selection.

The 99VC(Elektro and WhiTE to be specific) helped the Nerd Core beat Team Extreme in the new OGL League.  Congrats NC!

Hasta la pasta...

I just got done doing 2hrs of audio editing, and I have 6 songs fully completed...for those of you who never game me a MP3 for you song of choice(for you section) I will give you until Friday or I'll pick a song for you.  I have enough audio done to start on the actual recaming of the demo, I'll send out a sample once I get it done(this will probably go out late tonight).

     Back to editing I go!

We've had a good week so far, we have beat ZPC(CTF3 12-1) for the OGL Open ladder and TULL(CTF3 3-2, & CTF1 9-2) for ICR.  We have also picked up two new players, Thanatos who is a x-S9 member, and WhiTE who is a x-KA member.   Everyone be sure to give them a big welcome if you haven't already done so.

The 99VC server is undergoing a upgrade from the good'ol O/C 166MMX to a PII-300 sometime this week, everyone be sure to thank Fury for setting it up!  As always it has the latest maps and a few custom(but not in the map loop) for all your quakin needs.

After spec'in the ZPC game, I can see a LOT of things that we can work on as far as teamwork goes.  We WILL be holding a practice on this SUNDAY at 7:30pm PST.  Meet in IRC as always, and we will talk for about 1/2hr and then hope to the server around 8:00.  [RAM]Dina(errr, x-RAM) is going to come by on Sunday and play towards the end of the practice while we are doing a little scrim(99VC only)....also Solace(x-MR member) is probably going to swing by.

That about does it for now...I need to get back to doing audio editing for the new demo(Viper31 got a SMALL taste), so its proof that I AM actually working on it :)

By the way, I think Viper is tired of feeling neglected as a SHPB, so he wanted me to tell you all about his new system and connection that will be ready in the next couple of days.

I sent him my old TI-82 calculater for Christmas.  He is all excited.  "It will sure beat the hell out of trying to rail-aim in Quake2 on my old Casio wristwatch.  I can't imagine what a 4 inch screen is going to be like after this 1 inch piece of shit.  This is going to kick ass." - Viper  Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I sent him my old 2400 baud modem that came with my Prodigy Start-up Kit back in 1990 for his birthday a couple of months back.  I think he is getting a little modem adapter for the TI-82, so that he can start haulling ass with that connection.  Not to mention the fact that his new speedy system will support Quake3.   So, keep an eye out for Viper kicking ass into the far future.  And remember, try not to blame his probable future success on his new super system and connection.

P.S.  If anyone happens to have a spare Voodoo^2 hangin around, Viper could really use one.  It would boost the TI-82's greyscale (blue tint) to a max 2 color mode that would really help Viper in disquishing between teams.

THIS IS THE YEAR OF THE 99VC!

We have a new member! Thanatos - "The Fresh-Maker".  He will be one of our best players so kiss his ass.  Oops unlike other members in the 99VC, he may actually read this.

Well, the clan was pretty much inactive for the holidays.   That is the main reason for the lack of webpage updates and matches.  I am back at college and Sigma is back from his cruise etc., so the 99VC's activity will soon be back as u know it.  Speaking of being back at college, I will be getting my T1 access in a week or 2.  In the meantime I am back on my 24k.  Damn, I can already tell a huge difference between my 56k in Dallas and this 24k.  Can't imagine what it is like to go from T1 speed to dialup.  Speaking of which, how is Hawai, Coca, and how is Santa Rosa, Sigma?

The OGL CTF League has now been up and running for a couple of weeks.  I think it is still in the setup phase.  If you haven't registered yet, please go register and join the 99VC team.  We will start having matches for it very soon.

On to the bad news.  We lost to H8 in two games for an ICR match on 12.10.98.  Congratulations H8, you broke our 25 game winning streak.   (Cocooaaaa...Ziiiigggg get your asses back to HMC!)  We lost to ES in an ICR match by forfeiting.  We didn't have anyone to play.

Well I am really sorry about the lack of updates at movies.99vc.com.  I planned on redoing the site in HTML rather than the current Flash version, but I never got around to it during the Christmas break.  I think I will just keep it in flash in the meantime until I have time to change to HTML sometime.   I will start to do updates on it this weekend after I watch a couple of movies this weekend.  If u have any requests tell me before Saturday.
