99VC wins!! We have won our first clan game of the season! This was the first time that we have played as a clan in about 3 months, and we did a great job.  There are still a few things that we need to work on, and because of this, we will be having our first practice today (Sunday the 30th) at 9pm on the 99VC server.  But before we go and play, we are going to have a chat about what we did good/bad during the game.  This meeting will be held on IRC.stomped.com in #clan_99vc, check your Email for more info.

Our weekly schedule will consist of one practice, one scrimmage and one OGL game.  Our practices and scrimmages will be held on Sunday's at 9pm PST and Tuesday(or Wednesday?)at 9pm PST, the OGL game will always be a little different due to the fact that we don't get to pick the day to play(for the most part).   This will be a real busy week for us, practice today at 9pm PST, we play DPS on this Tuesday at 7pm PST, then we play KT on Wednesday at 10pm PST, and to top it off, we will be playing a OGL game!  The DPS/KT games will be scrimmages, informal and just for fun/practice.  If you want to play just let me know, you can ICQ me or Email me (I'd prefer Email though).

until next time

Today is our first clan game in about 2 months!!...and we've not had one practice yet :) It will be interesting to see what happens.  As of now, the players that have confirmed that they will be at the game are the following:

Storm, Fury, Viper31, Slicker, Coldsun(DeathZero) and Elektro

We have enough to play, but AG said that they are capable to play up to 8 vs 8.  I told them that we normally play 5 vs 5 but that I would look into getting some more players.  If you want to play, just drop me an E-mail.   The server/time is the following:

Server

ctf2.dps.com:27950(first game) clan99vc.smartlink.net(second game)

Time

9pm EST(6pm PST)
  - We will be playing the same map twice, once on each server and then adding the total scores (we couldn't agree on a server).

I will soon be adding a past news section, this page is getting a little big, starting to take awhile to download.   Well, I think that just about covers everything.

Oh!!  The Care Package has been delayed, but will be sent later to day for sure :)

Knights of Templar were kicked from the OGL ladder a few days ago because they were "cheating".   But were they cheating?  No.  Due to a very quick, and incomplete viewing of a demo, they accused, convicted, and sentenced KT to immediate dismissal from OGL and told them to never come back.  But wait, it gets better, they also said(going to rant section of OGL to get it....SH*T!  They pulled it all down :/)....hrmm..oh well, its probably best that I keep my mouth shut about the subject anyways.  To finish off the saga nice and quick, OGL admitted that they were wrong and invited KT back.   I'll save my rant about "The cheaters and the accusers" for another day.

Well, the game w/ DPS didn't go to well.  When we showed up for the game(all 4 of us) there were no DPS to be seen, why, you might ask?   Because the game was for 10pm EST, and not PST :) Who0ps, my bad.  I talked w/ Deltoid and we are going to have it at the same time/place:
TIME      = 10:00pm EST(7:00pm PST)
SERVER = 12.2.177.101:27950

In other news, I got an Email from BANGG(the Email is sent to everyone who attends), a LAN group that Slicker, Viper31 and I attend, that talked a little about us.  Here it is:

Toward the end of the night, we got to see a (ahem) beta copy of Rainbow Six in action. Four guys were playing it multiplayer, and it was like the Three Stooges [Slicker, Viper31 and I]& Shemp vs. World Terrorism. Typical occurrence:

R6 player one: "Dude, I'm on your right!"
R6 player two: "What?" (Turns to right, sound of MP5 being emptied on full auto)
R6 player one: "You shot me, you dick!"
Audience: (laugh their asses off)
Audience member: "So *that's* what the ceiling looks like!"

Yup, that's the 99VC in action, Rainbow 6 style!!!  Shoot first, ask questions later :)  For the most part we didn't do to good, but it was REALLY fun, and we were all having a good time.  Speaking of Rainbow 6 we are going to have a R6 division of 99VC.  If your interested contact Viper31, he will be the one heading the R6 division(at least for now...maybe forever).

I see that I need to fix up this news page a bit, its getting a little long. I'll make a "past news" section tomorrow because its a little to late to do it tonight.

"What?" (Turns to right, sound of MP5 being emptied on full auto)

Storm has just sent me the first image that will be incorporated into the new 99VC webpage(only the layout/gfx will change...wont be to drastic) and I decided to touch it up a bit, and throw it up on our entrance page, so I'm sure all of you have seen it.  What do you guys think?...Scary huh?

We have a practice/scrimmage game against DPS tomorrow night at 10:00pm PST.  Everyone is welcome/encouraged to show up, its very informal and no records will be kept of the game.  This is just so everyone can start to get back into the flow of things, to start to build our teamwork backup (I can only assume its gone down considering we haven't played as a clan in about two months).  In preparation for OGL, we will be playing the new "OGL certified" CTF maps, they can be grabbed here.

What a weekend.  4 days of relaxing at one of the many beautiful Californian beaches.  No phone calls, no E-mails, no nothing.  Wow, ok, enough of that...lets see here...where to start.  Zeameal Emailed me to let me know that he is going to write the History of the 99VC.  Also, after a little chat with Storm I found out that he is working on some new web graphics, and from what I hear, they have to be seen to believe.  Unfortunately, they will not be fully completed for another 4 months (more or less), I'll give the full story on why this is within the next day or so.

I'm getting ready to send out the first 99VC "care package" that will be later added to a "members only" section when it makes it online.  It will include strategies, a proposed practice schedule, and a host of other goodies.  While we are sorta on the topic of adding new sections to the webpage, I'm working on section that is SURE to draw traffic.  I'm going to keep this section under wraps until its fully completed (hopefully within the week), I'm sure you will all be surprised.

I gotta run...

Knights of Templar win ClanBash '98, beating Darkwater in two rounds.  Boy oh boy does it feel good to have ClanBash over.  I have talked w/ DPS and they are interested in playing us sometime next week, most likely it will be between Monday-Wednesday.  I'll be letting everyone know what's up as soon as we work it out.  It looks like we will also be playing Knights of Templar in a few weeks.

We haven't been updated on the OGL ladder yet...I don't know exactly what this means...I'm assuming that they just haven't updated it yet, but I'll be E-mailing them if they don't put us up soon.  In other news, I am taking volunteers who are really familiar w/ IRC to setup a 99VC channel.  We should have the channel on irc.stomped.com as #clan_99vc.  The person who volunteers will be responsible to get everyone on IRC with their names registered, and adding them to be OPed when they join the channel.   If your interested please E-mail me, it would be a great help.

I'm going to be out of town Thursday through Sunday night.

I'm getting close to finishing the members section, but I'm going to need some info from all of you, expect an Email from me soon.  Last night I entered the 99VC into the Online Gaming League, I'll fill everyone in with the info as I get it.  I highly recommend that you go to the page and read up on the rules.

In other clan news, Slicker is going to write up the new "history" section...it would be great if some of you "older guys" could fill him in with all the info that he requests.  A few of the topics that will be covered in the history will include: The 99VC birth place, our code of honor, and a map of showing the locations of all the 99VC players.

I just recently noticed that if you view the webpage in 16bit color(as oppose to anything higher) the colors in the tables on the main page are different.  This is something that will be fix soon.

That's it for now...

ClanBash '98 is winding down, in turn giving me more time to work on the 99VC webpage.  As I hope you can see, I've made quite a few tweaks in the sites layout as well as updated a few of the areas.  I still have yet to take the time to fix the forms in the "challenge" section.

Pre-season is right around the corner meaning that I'll be scheduling weekly practices soon.  On a related note, I'll be adding a "members only" section containing classified information(tactics, tips/tricks) :-] .   I'll Email everyone(assuming I have everyone's Email addy) once I setup the practice/scrimmage schedule.  Once the site is fully back online, I'll have all the info entered into the calendar at the bottom of this page(now under the calendar section).

  Stay tuned...
